Questions
- Do I need my own API key?
- Yes. Ghostwriter runs on Claude, ChatGPT or Gemini using your own key, so model usage is billed by Anthropic, OpenAI or Google. Keys are read from the environment and never stored.
- Does it publish anything?
- No. Every draft goes into the normal entry form, or a draft of the entry, for a person to check and save.
- Will it make things up?
- The writer is told to use only facts from the brief and the conversation. It does not invent figures, quotes or client names, and links it can’t decide are listed for you.
- What is sent to the model provider?
- Your voice guide, the brief, the conversation and excerpts from the entries a draft is modelled on. Nothing is sent until someone in the control panel asks for it.
- Can I make images without an OpenAI or Gemini key?
- You can search free photo libraries without one. Making new images needs an OpenAI or Gemini key; Claude does not make images.
